The “Nonprofit Problem Solver” podcast with Kev Khayat
Episode 54: “Why does organizational change usually fail?”
Press “play” below.
"I often teach and and talk about the the five psychological triggers that make change hard. And because I think if leaders don't understand, this is one of the reasons why I don't like the term “change management”. Because it makes the change process seem like a linear logical process that's predictable and controllable and instead, organizations are made up of humans - and humans are messy, emotional beings, right?
"So we, as leaders, need to deeply understand the psychological triggers of individuals, which within organizations get amplified and exponentially blown up - because we're collective human beings. Right?
"So what are those psychological triggers? And one you hit right on the head is autonomy"
